I got a call from a bloke with a strong Indian accent who called himself 'Jack'. He claimed to be with TPS and asked if we were getting annoying calls. My partner told him, "yeah, from you lot," and then the guy just dropped the call.

some bloke from india claimed he was with tps or some phone protection service. i was a bit iffy if it was a scam or not. he had my husband’s name but kept asking for mine. i wouldn’t give it. he told me they needed to link my voice to my name for registration or something. i told him they already had my husband’s details, so why should they need mine? then he said they can’t match a woman’s voice to a man’s name. yeah, right. quite suspicious if you ask me.

When I picked up, there was no one there, just silence.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming to be from “Windows technical support.” She said my computer was contaminated with a virus. I played along for a while, but then as soon as my PC showed a quick “exception error” when I opened the Event Manager, she lost it, called me a “stupid id##t,” and just cut me off. I was curious how these scams worked before ending things. I’ve since filed a report with the ICO (Information Commissioner's Office).
