I received a call on my home phone from someone claiming to be from Windows, warning me that there was an attempt to breach my computer’s security. I promptly informed her that I didn’t own a computer and ended the call shortly after. To my surprise, she rang back almost immediately, sounding rather annoyed. This time, she insisted that I must have a computer and accused me of behaving inappropriately. To cap it off, she mentioned she’d be suspending my license. Oh, and she had a distinct Indian accent, which struck me as quite unusual for such a call.
