got a call from a guy named ray with a distinct asian accent claiming he was ringing from ‘beneficial’. i didn’t hesitate to tell him to fuck off and slammed the phone down right away. they've tried calling me before so i knew the drill. apparently, there’s a company called beneficial financial group based in salt lake city, utah, which seems to operate overseas too but i can’t find any uk branch. not shockingly, given it’s where they’re based, it’s linked to the business side of the mormon church.

I got a call from a woman with a foreign accent who asked if this was David. I said yes, then she asked if it was a business line. When I said it was, she quickly apologised for bothering me and ended the call. Bit strange, huh? The number was 01342659527.

I got a call from a lady with a strong accent who somehow knew my first name and wanted to ask me something. I asked who she was, but it was really hard to understand her. After a bit, I told her nicely I’d have to end the call. I’ve blocked that number now.
