This rip-off has been going on for ages. It often pops up on that BBC 1 show 'Scam Interceptors', which is on this evening. On Monday 8th Jan 2024 around 2pm I got a call from 01342 392636. An automated woman’s voice said I had 2 suspicious charges: one for £700 and another for £2000 overseas. She told me to press 2 to contact Security if I wanted to stop the payments. I pressed the button and got through to what sounded like an office with loads of people chatting in the background. But just as I started to speak, they suddenly cut the call. Seemed really dodgy to me, quite clearly a scam trying to catch people out.
