Got a call from someone wanting to talk to the person in charge of our electricity bill. I told them we’re not a business and asked nicely to have our number taken off their list, especially as we’re on the TPS. The lady on the phone was pretty friendly and promised to do it. We’ll see if they actually follow through.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Sky Equipment Insurance, saying it was the final day to renew a TV cover for £12 a year. Thing is, I don’t even have that cover. I told them I’d sort it out online, but then the caller said their website was down. Told them to find proper work instead of trying to con folks. They kept pushing, quite annoying. In the end, I said if my telly ever breaks, I’ll just listen to the radio and then I ended the call.

One of the most pushy scam calls I’ve had in ages. The woman kept insisting I needed to renew my Sky TV insurance, even though I’ve never had any kind of insurance with them. She acted like I was daft and couldn’t recall anything at all! She even said she’d sent me a reminder through the post, which I supposedly forgot about. Proper nasty scammer, and the background noise was awful, like some busy call centre. Definitely steer clear of this one.

I had a bizarre experience with a chap claiming to be from Sky, insisting that I’d signed up for some TV insurance and the second payment was due. Naturally, I was a bit dubious, so I quizzed them on whether they even knew my name. They laughed and said they did, but couldn’t share it with me. Quite amusing! 😆 Once I stood my ground, asserting that I was well aware of what I'd signed, and that I had zero affiliation with them, they abruptly hung up. Quite the dodgy operation, I’d say!

Has anyone actually picked up when this number rang? I got a couple of missed calls from it, might just be some automated call centre trying to check if my number is active.
