Heads up, this number has been flagged as a scam and has been reported to the police and Action Fraud. The person calling often pretends to be from your internet or phone company (like BT or Virgin) and says there’s a problem that needs fixing. They’ll ask you to switch on your computer and try to get you to install a remote access app so they can get into your device. Once they have control, they usually try to con you out of money with another trick. Best just to ignore these calls, but if you can, report it to Action Fraud so they can investigate. This number phoned me twice earlier today. A woman with an Indian accent said she was from BT and told me there was an issue with my internet. She asked me to turn on my computer (like I’d just have it on all the time!). I got tricked by a scam like this a while back. They hack into your machine and then try to sell you stuff to fix it. Watch out for this one.
