Other Numbers
I had a worrying encounter where someone attempted to pilfer my computer's information. They posed as a 'Windows technician' from Microsoft and went by the name Oscar initially. Strangely, when we pressed for a name a mere five minutes in, he suddenly transformed into James! I kept the conversation going to tease out more details. He was adamant about verifying my Microsoft license ID, but we kept insisting that our computer was sluggish. The guidance he provided was suspicious, clearly aimed at giving him remote access, which would compromise all the data stored on the machine. After several attempts to extract his phone number under the pretense of a low battery situation, he finally passed me to another operator. We decided to end the call at that point. Both had noticeable Indian accents and were exceedingly chatty.
