Today I got a phone call from a woman with a foreign accent claiming there were loads of dangerous pop-ups on my computer threatening its security. When I asked if she was trying to sell some kind of security software, she replied no and insisted she just wanted to help me improve my computer’s safety by walking me through some steps.

I wasn’t convinced and just ended the call pretty quickly.

Got a call earlier today from this number, some bloke with a foreign accent claiming he was from Online Services. He told me there was an issue with my computer. I said I didn't have one (even though I do) just to see how he'd react. He insisted that someone at my place must be using a computer without permission, maybe a desktop or a laptop. I told him I'd probably have noticed that by now. Then I mentioned I work for the police, and right after that he quickly said he'd remove my computer from his list and just hung up. Bit dodgy if you ask me.
