Out of nowhere I got a call from a bloke with a thick foreign accent, telling me there’d been an issue with a Microsoft update. Told him I was proper worried hearing that sort of stuff. He promised to do everything he could to sort me out. We ended up chatting about how serious it was, then somehow drifted onto the oil prices, China’s economic growth and even my TPS registration. Eventually, I asked if the call actually mattered since I’m running Linux on my computer. That left us both a bit confused, and I reckon he muttered a few Hindi swear words before hanging up pretty sharpish. Best to steer clear... or if you’re bored, have a bit of a laugh with it!

Got a call at 4.30pm from a woman claiming our computer had a security alert from Microsoft. She kept going on about it, swearing she wasn’t a scammer and even gave some sort of ID number. After a bit, I just ended the call.
