Got a call from a man with an Asian accent claiming to be from a control centre, telling me there were problems with my computer. This is like the fifth time they’ve rung me, before they said they were from Microsoft. Earlier, I got a warning saying my PC had a virus. I ran multiple antivirus scans, and only Malwarebytes free trial picked up anything suspicious. To be on the safe side, I ended up wiping my hard drive, reinstalling Windows 10, and just relying on Windows Defender. Everything seemed fine until this recent call, so yeah, it smells like a scam to me.
