I just got a call from a number with a local area code I know well. The voice on the other end was a loud, robotic male who actually reminded me of those old cold war siren announcements! It said something like, "This is a BT message. This phone line is going to be cut off. To speak to us, press [?] or [7], otherwise the line will be disconnected." Naturally, I hung up straight away. That was seriously creepy and frightening - someone should put an end to these calls before some vulnerable person ends up really distressed!

I’ve just received a rather alarming call from this number, which is tied to a familiar local dialling code. The voice that came through was a rather loud, robotic male - reminiscent of those ominous nuclear alert announcements from the '60s! It proclaimed, “This is a notification from BT. Your line is about to be cut off. To get in touch, press [?] or [?]. If not, this line will be terminated.” Naturally, I dismissed the call without a second thought. Quite a sinister message, if I’m honest. Someone ought to put a stop to these sorts of calls, lest an unsuspecting old dear has a nasty fright!
