I answered the phone to someone who was all too familiar with my full name and even had my address. The caller proceeded to inquire about my washing machine, insisting that my warranty for insurance had lapsed. He then went on to offer a renewal at a reduced price. I turned him down right away as it had all the hallmarks of a classic scam.

I picked up on the fourth ring, but there was no one on the line - seems like some automated call and definitely not wanted.

Got a call from someone called James about renewing insurance for my washing machine. When I told him it was brand new, he just hung up straight away.

Pretty obvious she was fishing for bank info. Best thing is just to hang up.

i got a call on my phone from some number i didnt recognise, the code showed it was from helmsley in yorkshire. i dont have any mates or family around there so i just ignored it and they didnt bother to leave a voicemail anyway.
