Got a text supposedly from IHSBC UK about a standing order for £479 to someone named June Nash, said to go through on 9/9/26. The message told me to call 0133 536 8711 straight away if I didn’t know the payment. Definitely feels fishy since we’re not customers of IHSBC UK at all. Plus, the weird ‘I’ before HSBC makes it look even dodgier. Definitely a scam in my opinion.

BEWARE OF SCAM! Got a text saying HSBC was charging me £479 for a standing order to June Nash on 09/09/2026. The message had a callback number 0133 536 8711, asking me to call if I didn’t recognise the payment. This one actually said it was from HSBC, not IHSBC like some earlier scams you mentioned. I don’t even have an account with HSBC! I passed all the info, including that 0133 number, along to HSBC’s fraud team. They’ve taken note of everything. The suspicious text came from 07599 307 603.
