Got a message telling me to ring Barclays on this number to verify a transaction. Pretty sure whoever’s answering will be trying to pull a scam. What puzzles me is how this line is still active even though people have been warning about it for ages, like eight months back on here.

This was definitely a scam. I got a call claiming it was to verify a direct debit with Barclays Bank for £172.97, supposedly for Three Mobile. They asked me to ring 01333 481952 if I didn’t set it up. Absolutely dodgy, so I’ve reported it straight away.

Got a message saying it was from Barclays about a Direct Debit for £178.92 to Vodafone, but I don't even do my banking with Barclays or have anything to do with Vodafone. The text told me to ring that number if I didn't authorise it. Definitely a scam.
