Some bloke rang claiming he was from BT OpenReach, saying there was an issue with my phone line. I hadn't noticed anything wrong and certainly hadn't reported a problem. Then he asked if he could plug a BT server into my laptop to run some tests. I thought that sounded dodgy, told him it might be unsafe, and asked for his number so I could ring back later. He said he got why I was worried but insisted it was the only way to find the fault.
