Get yourself a CPR call blocker, it's proper brilliant for stopping loads of numbers at once. Honestly, best thing I’ve bought for my phone. I set it up to block everything starting with 0133, so now calls from any number beginning like that just don’t ring through. All it takes is pressing the big red block button or dialing ##7#10133#, and you're all set. Easy as that!

If they ring again, try answering all polite like with “Good morning/afternoon/evening, you’ve reached [insert a believable, small village police dept] - how may I assist you today?” Just pick a name that sounds legit but isn’t a well-known city or anything. I promise, that usually gets them off your back pretty quick.

Just had someone call about TV insurance, saying it was only £7.99 rather than £14.99 a month. Sounded too good to be true! My telly is 12 years old, cost me £189 back then and it’s never needed any repairs. The guy went on about paying by direct debit and named loads of different banks. I asked some questions and he just hung up on me. Felt dodgy, like they were after my bank info or something.

I asked them to email me the details so I could have a look, but they flat out refused. Claimed they only work through direct debit payments. Sure, like I’m falling for that!

I've had this number ring me thrice over the span of just two days. The first call was from a chap who claimed to be named Peter-he had an Asian accent and was rambling on about some sort of insurance related to my television. I wasn't having any of it and decided to hang up. Yet, the same number attempted to reach me again, but this time, as soon as I answered, they just hung up! Quite the nuisance, I must say.

Got a call from some bloke talking all American, claiming to be from "reliable repairs." Every time he asked me something, I just flipped it back on him with a question, which seemed to annoy him big time because he just hung up on me. I'd say be careful with this one, feels shady like he was trying to see if someone's home. Definitely mark as "dangerous" in my book.

I told the bloke I wasn’t having any of it, and he just rambled on with nonsense, so I ended up messing about with him. If you pick up, make sure you report them and don’t hand over any bank info, seriously.

I got a call from a bloke saying his name was Daniel Hill or maybe Mohamed, claiming he was from BT. He said I needed to pay a one-time fee of £47 to upgrade my phone and stop annoying calls. I just told him where to go, but then he kept ringing me non-stop for about 10 minutes. Proper pest!
