Got a call about insuring my telly - which I don’t even own - offered me a deal for £7.99 a month over two years. When asked if it was just for occasional viewing, I said nah, I actually use it as a fish tank. They hung up straight away after that.

Can anyone tell me who owns this number?

Got a call from some guy asking if my washing machine had been delivered or something, didn’t have a clue what he meant, so I just ended up hanging up on him.

Total con artists.

I didnt answer and they didn’t leave a voicemail. This has gotta be the fifth annoying scam call I’ve had just today. It’s really out of order, especially on a weekend like this.

The person who called just slammed the phone down. Likely some dodgy character who can’t hold a job.

Get yourself a CPR call blocker, it's proper brilliant for stopping loads of numbers at once. Honestly, best thing I’ve bought for my phone. I set it up to block everything starting with 0133, so now calls from any number beginning like that just don’t ring through. All it takes is pressing the big red block button or dialing ##7#10133#, and you're all set. Easy as that!

Rang me but they just ended the call straight away.

If they ring again, try answering all polite like with “Good morning/afternoon/evening, you’ve reached [insert a believable, small village police dept] - how may I assist you today?” Just pick a name that sounds legit but isn’t a well-known city or anything. I promise, that usually gets them off your back pretty quick.

Got a call from this number a couple of times on 6th May, but each time I picked up, they just ended the call straight away.

This is totally a scam without a doubt. Don’t purchase anything from them and make sure to tell your family, neighbours and especially older folks, as they’re the ones targeted the most.

I keep getting calls from this number on my home phone. It’s an Asian man, but his English is pretty hard to understand, so I usually just don’t pick up or hang up straight away. Still, he doesn’t stop calling.

Kept getting calls about my washing machine’s warranty, kept saying I wasn’t interested. After that, they just rang me, then hung up straight away. I decided to just ignore it for now, but I reckon I’ll have a little fun with them when they call next time.

Got a call about a special deal for retirees, offering to cut the price of a TV cover from £14.99 down to £7.99. The guy asked me what brand my telly was and how old it was. I said it’s just a year and a half old with a three-year warranty, so I didn’t need his insurance. He then claimed that the warranty wouldn’t cover electrical faults or accidental damage, which I found odd, as warranties normally do that sort of thing. Plus, my home insurance would cover accidental damage, so what was he on about? Then he asks for my date of birth, which I questioned - why exactly would he need that? He said he couldn’t remember it himself! You could tell he was getting a bit annoyed because I wasn’t falling for it. I let him go on for a while, pretending to be interested, just for the fun of winding him up. Eventually he got round to asking for my bank details, and that’s when I told him to jog on. Now I’m just waiting for him to ring back!

My mum got a call saying her washing machine's warranty was about to expire and they asked if she wanted to renew it. She then questioned if they actually had her address on file. They admitted they didn’t know where she lived, which I found odd considering how they claimed to know about the warranty running out. Felt a bit dodgy to me!

This number keeps ringing us non stop, so we just don’t pick up anymore.

Got a call from some dodgy bloke with an Indian accent saying my TV licence fees were getting cut down. I told him we don’t own a telly. Then he started asking what I do all day, so I said I’m at work. Next thing I know, he’s asking my age because apparently I have a “lovely voice” - so weird and creepy 🤮 This isn’t the first time I’ve had a call like this either!

Just had someone call about TV insurance, saying it was only £7.99 rather than £14.99 a month. Sounded too good to be true! My telly is 12 years old, cost me £189 back then and it’s never needed any repairs. The guy went on about paying by direct debit and named loads of different banks. I asked some questions and he just hung up on me. Felt dodgy, like they were after my bank info or something.

So, this number got in touch again, saying they’re a trustworthy repair service and can cover my TV and washing machine repairs. I asked them to email me the details so I could have a look, but they flat out refused. Claimed they only work through direct debit payments. Sure, like I’m falling for that!

Got called by this number three times over two days. The first time, a guy with an Asian accent told me his name was Peter and he was talking about insurance for my TV. I told him I wasn’t interested and hung up. Then the number called again, but when I picked up, they just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from some bloke talking all American, claiming to be from "reliable repairs." Every time he asked me something, I just flipped it back on him with a question, which seemed to annoy him big time because he just hung up on me. I'd say be careful with this one, feels shady like he was trying to see if someone's home. Definitely mark as "dangerous" in my book.

These lot are proper dodgy, just trying to con money out of you. They was saying you HAVE to pay for some repair on your washing machine or telly. I told the bloke I wasn’t having any of it, and he just rambled on with nonsense, so I ended up messing about with him. If you pick up, make sure you report them and don’t hand over any bank info, seriously.

Got a call about my washing machine warranty supposedly running out. The bloke asked if I was retired, then randomly said I had a lovely voice. He went on about loving me for a thousand years and mentioned he’s got an eight-year-old girl who would want me as her mum! Proper strange chat.

Whenever I get calls from numbers I don’t recognise, I tend to fire up this Police siren sound on my phone and hold it close to my landline handset before picking up. After a couple of tries, they usually wise up, provided their ears aren’t totally deadened from the noise.

My phone's on and the volume’s up, so it’s weird how I don’t hear it ring. This isn’t the first time either, loads of calls from very similar numbers. It’s clearly a scam, they’re just trying to get you to ring back and then rip you off. Don’t fall for it, these people are total parasites!
