They were going on about checking names, addresses, and which appliances I owned, and I nearly lost my train of thought when I mentioned my hairdryer! There was a constant din in the background - sounded like a call centre buzzing with activity. It makes me wonder why these companies are still allowed to operate. Surely, tracking these calls must be possible, so why aren’t authorities stepping in to shut them down?

I didn’t give my name at all. When I asked what they wanted, they said something about appliance insurance. I told them they must have dialled the wrong number and ended the call. Never give out your name or address, it’s a breach of Data Protection rules.
