I got a call from a woman who spoke with a thick foreign accent. She said she was from BT and told me my BT email had been hacked and that some "others" were using it. She asked me if I knew about this and whether I'd recently changed my password. I told her no. Then she wondered if I was by my computer so she could walk me through fixing the issue. Right away, I hung up and checked the number by dialling 1471. It turned out to be a landline with Virgin Media, based in Derby. This number definitely seems suspicious to me.
