I received a dodgy call purporting to be from 'TalkTalk', claiming that my router was supposedly “spitting out error alerts.” The moment I brought up their clear intent to access my computer, they abruptly hung up. Quite the fishy encounter if you ask me!

Got a call from someone claiming to be 'talktalk' saying my router was throwing error alerts. When i told them i wasn’t gonna let them get into my computer, they just hung up on me. Total scam.

if you have your number on the tps, make sure to report any scam calls to the ico. for those annoying silent or dropped calls, you should let ofcom know. these spam people ignore complaints on forums like this, but they start to fret when official reports get sent to ofcom or ico, and honestly it only takes a minute or two to do.
