Had a call from a woman with a South Asian accent who said her name was Angela, claiming to be from BT’s internet security team. She said my internet was being hacked and gave me a network ID to look at on some fancy device. I told her I thought it was a waste of both our time, and she just hung up on me. Pretty obvious scam if you ask me.

This number called an elderly woman who’s quite vulnerable, trying to set up a visit at her home. I rang them back and left a message insisting they shouldn’t come around or get in touch again. I’m planning to inform the police about what’s happened here.

I got a call from a woman at Manguard Electrical Security, she was saying that the cops won’t turn up for usual alarms anymore. She went on about their alarms and managed to set up a time for someone to come and show me what they offer.

I decided to return the call and discovered it belonged to a firm named Ideal Alarms. When I chatted with the lady on the line, she seemed quite puzzled and affirmed that she had no clue about the caller, expressing scepticism that it originated from their establishment. She kindly suggested adding me to their subscriber preference list to halt any further calls. All she needed from me was my surname and postcode, but thankfully, she didn't ask for any additional information.

I can't quite remember the company's name, but they kept pushing solar panels really hard on older folks who looked like they could be easily taken advantage of.
