If someone contacts you claiming to be from your internet service provider and informs you about an error that could potentially allow hackers to access your system, it's essential not to provide any confirmation or denial regarding their queries. Instead, kindly ask them for their name and the company they are calling from. It is highly likely that they would mention BT. Express your gratitude for their call and mention that you will personally contact BT to discuss the matter further.

Remember not to disclose any personal information discussed during the call, including your name or the name of your internet service provider.

I keep receiving frequent calls from this particular number, and luckily my caller display feature has been quite useful. Strangely, the number has now changed to 01332625087. It raises the question whether these Derby numbers are being manipulated by someone to deceive unsuspecting individuals into thinking the calls are genuine.

Got a call from 01332 60223, some bloke with a foreign accent claiming there was a problem with my BT router setup. Couldn't really make out everything he was saying, but I had a gut feeling it was a scam. Kept him chatting for ages while I got on with other stuff. Then he asked for my password, and I was like, why on earth would I hand it over to some scammer? He then asked why I was wasting his time on the phone, and I told him exactly that - wanted to waste his time back. He told me to f off, so I just said, 'Have a lovely day. And up yours!' Brilliant.

Got a call from some bloke, said his name was Jack but sounded dodgy, claiming my internet had issues he could sort. I told him to find a real job and stop using fake names. I looked up the number, tried ringing it back but it said the number didn’t exist. Total scam if you ask me.

I kindly request that they refrain from making eight phone calls to me today. It has been tiring and confusing for me, especially because I am disabled.

Like the others have mentioned, this bloke called me saying there was an issue with my router. He just kept going on and on until I told him I’d report him and then I slammed the phone down. He phoned again earlier but I was out so my lad picked up. He’s pretty tech-savvy and ended up chatting with the caller for ages. When the guy tried to get some details out of him, my son said he worked in IT and knew everything was fine. The caller hung up straight away! Seriously, don’t give them any details!

This number’s called me a couple of times now. First time I told them straight up it’s a scam, and the bloke just ended the call. Next time a woman answered and said it wasn’t, but I told her to find a proper job or she’d end up in trouble. I’ve blocked this one, but I keep getting the same nonsense from different numbers too.

If you receive calls from this number, it's best not to answer as it can potentially reveal your address and pass your details to other fraudulent callers. My home phone has caller display, so I usually ignore calls from this number. If it's important, they can leave a message. It's frustrating, but there isn't much we can do. I have registered with the TPS (Telephone Preference Service), but unfortunately, they can't help with these types of calls. They did provide me with a number (01625545745, option 4) to report nuisance calls, but I haven't contacted them yet. In the past, I've labeled these bogus calls on my caller display, but they keep changing their numbers. Now I simply ignore any calls that seem suspicious, although it can be difficult since some numbers may appear genuine. If you're receiving these calls on your mobile, it's advisable to label them as bogus. Wishing you the best of luck.

It's frustrating. I've been receiving calls every day for a solid two weeks now. I choose not to answer them, as genuine callers would leave a message on my voicemail. Fortunately, I have caller display on my landline phone. Previously, I used to label any fake numbers that called me, but often the numbers are different each time.

I kept getting calls from this number like 12 times in two days, never left a voicemail. Finally answered and some bloke with an Asian accent said there was a problem with my internet, which is rubbish since my internet works fine and I actually work in IT. Totally a scam trying to cause trouble. Feels like straight up harassment and pretty sketchy. Best just to avoid and don’t fall for it!

This number has called me about 4 or 5 times over the past few days. When I picked up the first call, they told me the same router story as mentioned here. I told them to stop calling, but obviously they didn’t listen. Now I just ignore their calls altogether.

This morning, on the 3rd of August, I received a total of four phone calls on this number. As I laid in bed at 8:45 am, the first call came through. In hopes of hearing the answering machine, I patiently waited, but unfortunately, the callers did not leave any responses. I've noticed that most viewers do not pick up the phone unless it's a relative, who usually leaves a message. - Mary

They've been ringing me about five times daily this week. I’ve been ignoring it since I don't know anyone from Derby. I decided to return the call but kept my number private, and of course, it just says ‘number not recognised’. Bit fishy if you ask me.

The speaker received a call from someone claiming to be from BT Internet service. The caller knew the first name of the speaker's husband and requested to speak with him. The speaker politely declined the request, causing the caller to apologize for the inconvenience. The caller's politeness caught the speaker off guard and raised doubts about its legitimacy. Fortunately, the speaker stumbled upon this website, which provided helpful information.

There has been a continuous occurrence of three phone calls per day from the mentioned telephone number, during the past few days, to a business line specifically allocated for Funeral Directors. This persistent act is greatly bothersome as there is complete silence on the other end of the line when the call is answered. Undeniably, it has become quite an inconvenience.

I got a call from 01332 602233, some bloke with a funny accent claiming to be from BT about my internet. When I told him I wasn’t a BT customer and asked him to remove me from his list, he started getting really rude. He kept yelling that I must be with BT and paying them, then finally just hung up. The whole thing left me feeling quite upset and rattled.
