The number seemed fake, probably spoofed, as the caller had an Indian accent and you could hear a bunch of people chatting nearby like a busy call centre. She claimed to be from Sky and said she wanted to check my broadband’s performance. I kept listening, thinking maybe it was legit. After running a speed test, she told me to install an app on my phone that would've let someone else control my device remotely. Avast immediately flagged it as suspicious. That’s when I ended the call since it was pretty clear it wasn’t really Sky and most likely a scam trying to get access.
