This is the third time I’ve got calls on different numbers, including this one! A woman asked for me by my name, but when I asked who was calling, she just dropped the call. Could hear call centre noises in the background, so I’m guessing it’s another spam or scam call!

Got a very eager bloke ringing me earlier, speaking super fast about how they’re stopping cold calls and overseas calls to my number. He had my full name, address, phone number and then started asking about my bank card details. He wanted me to confirm my payment method and card expiry date, claiming his company works with the TPS. Said they needed my info to help me better in future. I asked what that had to do with anything and just hung up. How on earth did he get my details, especially since I haven’t lived at this address for a year yet? Really creeped out and annoyed about this.

I picked up the call but there was silence for a good few seconds. Then a woman, who sounded Asian or at least with a foreign accent, asked if she could speak to someone with the same first initial as my partner. I told her no one by that name lived here - which was right - and since I was just settling outside in the sun for the first warm afternoon, I sharply told her to leave me alone. I’m really done with these kinds of calls and don’t bother being polite anymore.

I told her straight up it was a scam, just trying to fish for info to flog online, which would only bring more rubbish calls from those muppets. I then recommended she find a proper bin to chuck her phone in.

Got a call from an Asian guy called Jason who said he had some 'marketing questions'. The caller always messes up my surname, sounds like it’s always from these Asian folks with western Christian names, and they stick to the same script every time. Definite scam. I’ve actually been to India and Indonesia and never seen locals with western Christian names. Stayed with Hindu and Sikh families too. As a church minister, I really don’t appreciate being interrupted when I’m sorting out church services.

Got loads of calls from 01332517990. At first, I was a bit puzzled since I have family in Derby and recognised the 01332 area code. The line was dead quiet though, which was odd. The third time I picked up, someone just said “hello” as I was about to hang up. To sum it up, best advice is either don’t bother answering (then why have a phone?), or just hang up straight away - annoying either way. Or, if you’re feeling cheeky, tell them to bugger off before putting the phone down. Any of those options work really.

Hey everyone. Just to let ya know, this number is NOT from HMRC. It’s actually based in Mickleover, Derby. The real HMRC office isn’t there - it’s somewhere else in Derby, postcode DE1 1QP. I’m doing some digging myself, and I’ve had calls from this number too. HMRC would never ring from an internal phone like that, so it’s definitely a scam. Don’t ring it back and don’t give out any info. Protect your details! Legit companies usually send letters first and expect you to call them. Stay smart and be careful!

A woman called claiming to be from "Save the Day". She gave an address that was definitely fake, one I’d mentioned before to a different telemarketer. She asked just one thing - my age range starting at over 65, which I declined to answer. It felt like they were trying to prey on elderly people. When I wouldn’t say, she just ended the call. Best to block this number, it’s clearly the start of some sort of scam.

Somebody called saying it was a survey for Save The Day. Pretty sure they’ve called me before. Total scam. I’ve just blocked the number now.

Some woman rang me, claiming she was from 'Save the Day' and wanted to do a quick survey. I’ve stopped taking part in those sorts of calls nowadays.
