Just received a dodgy call claiming to be from HMRC. It was a pre-recorded message insisting I press 1 to chat with someone at HMRC, warning that not doing so could lead to my arrest. Well, let’s be clear - this is not how HMRC operates; they’ve never communicated in this way and they certainly won’t in the future!

Got a call from someone claiming I owed money to HMRC, telling me to press 1 to talk to them or else I'd be arrested. It felt like a scam straight away because HMRC don’t do things like that, ever. Honestly, I wouldn't fall for it, they’ve never operated that way and I doubt they ever will.
