Red Star PPI kept ringing me, bit of a nuisance but nothing too bad. The lady who called was polite tho and told me about signing up for TPS. I called 0161 834 5333 and got through to a bloke named Steffan, who was really friendly and sorted out getting my details taken off their list. Would say ask for him straight away.

Got two calls today from some dodgy lot calling themselves Red Star. They even had my old address on record, which was creepy enough. Then they started asking about credit cards I owned during a certain time frame - I reckon they were trying to scam me about some unclaimed PPI or something. I told them straight away that this is [***], I’m signed up to the TPS, and that what they’re doing is sketchy and against the law. The bloke on the phone got rude and just hung up on me. Honestly, I’m fed up with these lowlife companies and their workers who seem to have zero ethics. It’s just awful how they keep pestering people like this.

Spoke to Ofcom today about these silent calls. Apparently, because there’s no speaking, I can’t ask them to stop ringing me. If they keep calling after I’ve told them to stop, that counts as harassment and the police will arrest the caller straight away.

I asked if that means they can just keep buzzing me all day and night without talking and get away with it, and the answer was yes!

Maybe I’m old school, but it seems like a quick trace by the phone company would catch these people easily. They just don’t seem interested in doing it though.
