They admitted they don't bother to cross-check numbers with the Telephone Preference Service before reaching out. Apparently, they source their call lists from The British Data Company, claiming it's their responsibility to verify the numbers they dial. I had a look at The British Data Company’s website, which turned out to be a rather unhelpful affair, merely directing users to an 0800 number. When I rang, I was greeted by an automated message stating that the number had changed and to call an 0904 number instead-being a premium rate line, I opted not to ring it.
