6 yearsI had a rather alarming phone call today, claiming to be from HMRC, accusing me of some sort of fraud. The caller stated that I owed them an amount that kept changing - first it was £1900, then £1800, and finally £1700. They were quite evasive about proving their identity and kept insisting on knowing who I bank with. It took a rather sinister turn when they threatened to dispatch police officers to arrest me if I didn’t cough up the cash. Honestly, it was incredibly unsettling.
