An unknown man called our elderly mother, probing her for sensitive details like, "Did you ever work in a factory?" and "Have you experienced any hearing issues?" When she asked to note down their number for a callback, a different fellow took over the conversation, repeating all the same queries. I interjected, mentioning I'd been eavesdropping on their conversation and that someone would indeed return their call. The entire situation struck me as rather dodgy. Our mother is quite fragile and of advanced age, which makes it all the more concerning.
