Received a call from this number and it turned out to be an HMRC tax scam - really unsettling! When I answered, an automated message warned me that if I didn’t continue, someone would come to my house. Soon after, a man spoke to me live, but I told him I was busy at work and asked to ring back later. After that, I noticed repeated calls from 020 7947 782, which I found out is a known HMRC tax fraud number. I tried calling the second number back but nobody picked up and there was no option to leave a voicemail. That’s when I started to realise something wasn’t right.
