Got a phone call on 22nd August 2018 around 12:32pm, supposedly from BT saying that I only made a few calls on my landline and promised to lower my monthly bill. The background was really loud and the caller had quite a strong foreign accent, which made me wary. I ended the call straight away and contacted BT via their website to look into it. They told me they hadn’t made any such call and advised me to report it to Action Fraud. I also looked up the area code and it was from Banchory, near Aberdeen.
