I just received a rather dodgy phone call, and I immediately sensed it was one of those scams, so I thought I'd play along for a chuckle. The caller, speaking with an Indian accent and claiming to be Jennifer from Citizens Advice, was asking for a rather absurd £100 to write off some nonexistent debts of mine. I couldn’t help but chuckle at her audacity and told her that I wasn’t born yesterday. Her response? She called me an "idiot moron" before abruptly hanging up. What a laugh!

Just a short while ago, I got a call that I reckon was a scam pretending to be from the NHS, probably aimed at older people. The person speaking had a really thick accent and it sounded like a call from overseas, maybe India. I didn’t bother engaging and thought I’d share this to warn others so they don’t fall for it either. No offence meant, just trying to be helpful.

Got a call from a woman claiming to be from the NHS Covid helpline, said she was working out of their main office. When I asked for the address, she couldn’t provide it but surprisingly knew my husband’s name! Then she said it was somewhere in London. Definitely a scam call centre - this kind of thing should be cracked down on! They tried ringing me 4 times earlier too, with a number showing up as Fakenham, Norfolk area.

I got a call from someone saying they were from the NHS, asking if I had any COVID symptoms and if there were kids under nine in the house. They also wanted to know what medication I was on. Surely if this was really the NHS, they’d already have all that info? When I told them I’d rather ring the NHS myself before answering anything more, they just ended the call. I just received a rather concerning phone call here in southern Dorset. They were asking about my vaccination records and whether I had a certificate, which, quite frankly, isn’t something I require. The most alarming part was that they actually mentioned my doctor’s name! Naturally, I contacted my surgery to inform them, but they had no idea what was going on.
