That number showed up on my phone but I couldn’t pick up at the time. It looked like a local number, so I called back, but an American woman answered saying they weren't able to accept calls. Seems like a scam to me, quite annoying too. Since it had a local area code, I got a bit worried it might be someone important trying to reach me. I've since blocked it on my phone to stop it ringing again.

Got a call from this number earlier, it had the same area code as mine. They were trying that old scam about me being in an accident or something! Such a classic trick.

this local number kept ringing me loads over a few days so i just ignored it at first. thought i'd give it a go and pick up to see what was going on since its from nearby. turns out it was some kind of personal accident claim chat. i told them i wasnt interested but the lady just carried on chatting, so i just cut it off and hung up.
