Someone rang saying they were from TPM, which they said was an upgraded version of the old TPS, meant to stop nuisance calls. They wanted to check our info again, claiming we’d been on a trial since we first got our landline (20 years? Doesn’t seem right!). I lost interest and ended the call.

I rang this number earlier and it just went straight to voicemail with no reply. Tried calling again after a few hours, and the person said they were from TPS. Then they asked if I was getting loads of annoying calls and offered to put me on the TPS register. Told them I’m already signed up, but they insisted they could reactivate it. I hung up as soon as they started asking for personal info. Definitely a scam!

It's clear now where these extremists are getting funds for their weapons. Never hand over your info, and don’t register for stuff with strangers. Would you seriously share your personal details with someone you don’t know, never asked to call, and have never even heard of before? Think twice!

Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent saying he was from TPS, going on about the Data Protection Act. I asked him what year that act was from and he just hung up, saying he couldn’t hear me. Moments later, he rang back but from some “international number”. I didn’t answer. Seems like a fresh scam trying to trick people into handing over cash or personal info. Definitely sounded dodgy to me.

There was this awkward pause, right? Just as I was about to hang up, someone finally began talking.

No idea who this could be, but they've rung me like 5 times in just a couple of hours. Every time I pick up, there's complete silence and then they just hang up straight away. Really strange!

Early this morning around 8.50, I got a call on my new mobile. The guy had a thick Asian accent and said he was ringing from the Telephone Preference Service. He asked if I’d been receiving annoying or harassing calls recently. I told him I’d only had this number for a couple of weeks and that he was actually the first person to call me. After that, he just abruptly ended the call.

Got a call from a woman with a strong accent who said she was from the TPS and somehow knew my name and where I live. She started talking about direct debits, which made me really suspicious, so I just ended the call. I've blocked the number since then.

got a call from someone saying they were from the telephone preference service, but i wasn’t having any of it and didn’t go along with their spiel. as soon as i stopped answering their questions, they just ended the call. i reckon it’s probably the same group that’s been ringing from numbers like 01784 448 146 and 001 2784 448 146.
