Today my elderly mum got a call from the number 01322 430796. The lady on the line, who sounded American, claimed that £600 had been stolen from her bank account. What’s odd is that she didn't even bother to ask my mum’s name. My mum got really worried and ended the call straight away. We rushed to an ATM to see if anything dodgy had happened, but thankfully nothing was wrong. These scammers targeting older people are just awful.

Some bloke called me, said his name was Daniel and he sounded African. He said he was from BT or something. I told him straight up I reckoned he was a conman and a cheat, then asked if he was gonna keep going with the chat. He just hung up on me.
