Got a call on my landline from a Darlington code, 01325 522437, and the person on the phone said they were from EE. They never asked for my name. Told them I don’t do unsolicited calls and ended the call.

The person calling said they were from BT and that my contract was coming up for renewal, saying I could save about a third by switching over to them. I explained I’d just renewed with BT and got a decent offer, which he ought to know if he really worked there. Then he admitted he was from a different telecoms firm but insisted he could still cut my costs. They wouldn’t accept my refusal, so I ended the call nicely.
