Got a call from HSBE pretending to be from a business bank, sounded like a total scam trying to pull off fraud. Be careful, definitely dodgy.

somebody rang claiming to be from hsbc, wanted to check some security stuff even though i told them i’d already sent my form back to hsbe. their accent was pretty hard to get, so i just said no point continuing if they already have my form. loads of calls lately from different hsbc numbers but most times they just hang up when i pick up. got texts saying they’d call ‘in the afternoon’ or at ‘2 in the morning’ but they never stick to it. today they were meant to call in the morning but only got through around 4pm. pretty annoying honestly.

I was looking for the hsbc covid19 loan help line, just wondering if it’s legit and safe to call.?

As soon as I picked up, they just ended the call, which seemed suspicious, so I decided to block the number straight away, pretty obvious it was a scam.

They rung me, but I couldn't pick up and then they just dropped the call. When I tried to ring them back, I was told I’d got the wrong number. Pretty much says everything about it.

yeah, it's definitely hsbc calling. this line handles all sorts of stuff for the bank, so don't be surprised if they reach out for different reasons.

someone called me claiming to be from hsbc and said i should share half my security info while he’d provide the other half to confirm my identity. i told him i wasn’t up for it and ended the call. right after, he rang again from a number showing as “unknown” but i didn’t answer.

They claimed to represent HSBC, and we asked them to give us a call back, but as of now, we haven’t heard a peep from her.

Indeed, this is HSBC. In my situation, it was Invoice Finance reaching out to discuss my account, which I happen to possess. So, really no cause for concern whatsoever!

I’m experiencing the exact same thing! The number keeps calling and ringing incessantly. More often than not, it’s some chap with a strong Indian accent on the other end, so we tend to just cut the call short. It’s getting rather tedious, to be honest!

We just happened to miss a call from this number. When we tried to return the call, we were met with a message saying 'number not in service'. We were anticipating a call from HSBC, so we reckon this might be the real deal. Perhaps they simply don't take incoming calls on this number?

CAUTION! The phone number 01325500037 was definitely NOT from HSBC. We received a call from this number claiming to be associated with HSBC, insisting they needed to ask us some security questions. We were hesitant to share any information and asked the caller to ring us back instead. After that, we reached out to the official HSBC online banking support to confirm the legitimacy of the number, and they stated they had no knowledge of it at all.

Just to put any worries to rest regarding the calls from numbers 01325500037 or 01514798063: rest assured, they are genuinely from HSBC’s scam prevention team. At first, we were a bit wary, so we took the precaution of getting the caller’s name and extension before dialling the main HSBC line (08457 404 404). They confirmed the legitimacy by connecting us back to the person who had originally contacted us.

My phone keeps buzzing but when I answer, there’s nothing there and then it just ends the call. Really annoying!

Earlier today, we received a call regarding "an urgent issue with our business account." It seemed a bit dodgy, so we decided against sharing any of our security information. We then contacted our local branch to verify the number, and they confirmed they’re not aware of any such call. Just to note, HSBC typically uses 08455 and 08457 digits.

We received a call from the same number. Given that we've just submitted a mortgage application with HSBC, we suspected it might be a scam. It has absolutely no connection to our mortgage request. The caller claimed it was a ring for some sort of 'update', which initially sounded plausible, but when we pressed for specifics, she was at a complete loss and just kept repeating the same questions. Eventually, we decided to hang up.

I just received a call from this number and, rather foolishly, shared our date of birth with the bloke. I’m feeling rather anxious now. What could these individuals possibly do with that information?

I received a call from someone claiming to be from HSBC Bank, and they started firing off security questions. The chap could hardly string a sentence together in English and said his name was Alan. I ended up hanging up on him; it just didn’t sit right with me at all.

We recently received a call from this number, and the gentleman on the other end claimed to be representing HSBC. He mentioned that we could call them back at 0845 6030246, which indeed connects directly to their office.

I can definitely agree with this observation. It seems like HSBC is simply touching base regarding an ongoing business matter that one might be dealing with. However, I've noticed that they rarely leave messages when calling from this number.

I got a call from 01325500037, purporting to be from HSBC, and they requested that I ring them back on 01179 296978, which turned out to be a non-existent number. Now, both 01325500037 and the bogus number have gone silent. Just a heads up - don’t believe anyone claiming to represent HSBC; they’re the real scammers here!

We recently received a call from this number, and the woman on the other end had an Indian accent, claiming to be affiliated with HSBC. She began asking us a series of security questions, but we pointed out that we’ve never provided our mobile number to HSBC. Instead of addressing this, she insisted on continuing with the security inquiries, which we declined to answer. When we pressed for clarity about the purpose of the call, she stated she couldn’t provide any information until those questions were out of the way. It all feels rather suspicious, to be honest!

Claiming to be associated with HSBC, we asked her to give us a call back, but so far, nothing has come through.
