I rang 1 and the person asked for my name, postcode and date of birth, then asked if the transaction was mine. I said no, obviously. Then they asked for my bank's sort code. I told them it sounded dodgy and I'd confirm with my bank first. The caller just said ok, then ended the call. Definitely a scam.

Got a call at 9:55pm from some bloke who said his name was MIKE SMITH. He claimed there was suspicious activity on our bank and some dodgy firm had taken £199 from it. Told us our account might get blocked unless we got in touch with their fraud team straight away. Of course, he asked for our bank info - as if I was gonna hand that over!

I stayed silent and so did the person on the other end, then after a short pause, they just ended the call. Over the past few days, I've been getting loads of calls from various numbers, all with automated voices saying that money was withdrawn from my bank card in another country. I just put the phone down, but honestly, these scam calls are really starting to annoy me.

Today I was around to answer, and this Indian man said he was calling from Visa about an attempted charge of £699 on my card. When I asked which Visa card he meant, he just dodged the question and mentioned my old married name - which I don’t even use anymore! The moment I told him that wasn’t correct, he ended the call. I double-checked all my bank cards and everything seems fine on my end.

Someone has made a dodgy £129 purchase on my Visa card while abroad, so I’ve had to block it. We’re pretty sure it’s a scam, but what’s the best way to stop this happening again? Honestly, I wish I could find those idiots responsible, catch ’em, and stick a phone earpiece on their ear permanently, so they hear a dial tone non-stop and slowly lose their minds.
