I’ve encountered yet another bogus phone number that changes with every call. When I pick up, it’s that robotic female voice saying, “Hello, this is British Telecom.” I swiftly hang up and add the number to my block list, as I’ve no dealings with them, particularly since my landline runs on cable, not through BT. I fear it might be a scam aimed at infiltrating my computer. Blocking the number is futile, as they simply churn out a new one for every attempt. I’ve labelled these calls as Dangerous. When I attempt to ring the number back, I’m met with a message stating, “The number you’ve dialled is unrecognised.” It’s definitely something fishy going on!

Got another one of those spoofed calls today, but this time a robot sounding woman claimed to be from British Telecom. Tried blocking the number but it was pointless since they just use a new one each time, dodging all the call blockers. Not sure if reporting it to anyone actually does any good. These scammers have been at it for years, trying to get into computers, and it feels like no one’s managing to put a stop to them yet.
