The letter mentioned that from 1st April 2017, there would be a hefty increase for unoccupied homes, skyrocketing to double the standard rate. It also warned that neglecting to send back the included form would mean the charge would kick in from the specified date. The form was meant to be directed to the empty homes officer and the correspondence bore the signature of Paul Ferguson, the manager of revenues. The email listed was [email protected], and the letter was printed on Falkirk Council's official stationery. Additionally, it provided a name, Elaine Hall, along with the number 01324 590802 and her email [email protected]. There was also a mention of Falkirk Council's general email address [email protected], with "eh to uk" distinctly underlined.
