i got a call from a woman with a british accent, it was a recorded message saying it was visa direct telling me £600 was taken from my account in the last quarter hour because of a 'transaction' through western union. the message said to press 1 for help to stop it. i just hung up, waited a bit, then called 1471 to check if the number was shown. it did appear. not sure if all these calls come from that same number, but this is where the call i just had was from.

I just got a recorded message claiming to be from my bank’s Visa & Mastercard security team, saying there was a £600 charge on my card about 15 minutes earlier. The whole thing sounded fishy to me.
