Got two calls from them, sounded like they was reading off a script. They said they were from the National Trading Standards Fraud Department, something to do with Consumer Union. Said it was about closing a timeshare. They told me I needed some official paperwork from the timeshare company or else I might get hit with charges. Then they mentioned they could put me in touch with the FCA - called it 'the panel' - for proper advice but that’d come with a fee. They even said they were solicitors. Absolutely rubbish! Really dodgy and suspicious behaviour.

Someone rang me pretending to be from the UK Government’s ‘Legal Advice Board’ or ‘The Support Group’ about ending a timeshare agreement. They tried to make me anxious by saying my cancellation info wasn’t correct, but I knew it was fine. When I asked for their contact number, they gave me a different one instead: 01273004221. Total rubbish, just scaring people like these scams do. They didn’t pitch a service but pushed me towards a company called “Venture Compliance” who supposedly sort things out fast!
