Got a call earlier from someone saying they were from the electricity company. I muted the call and left them waiting for a bit. When I picked up again, they asked about my electric supply. Got a ring from some bloke claiming to be Alex from Durnetz or something like that, sounded Asian. He said he was here to check the electric meter. I wasn't having any of it and gave him a piece of my mind, which seemed to rile him up. Clearly not doing well at his job! I've blocked the number now.

The woman on the line was really hard to catch what she said, but she kept asking if I was the person who owned the phone. I didn’t catch the name of the company she claimed to be with, so I just ended the call. Then I looked up the number online and saw all these reviews right here. When she rang back and asked if I was the phone’s owner, I joked, “No, I nicked it!” She quickly hung up, and I haven’t had another call from them since!

Got a call today from a bloke with a thick accent I could barely make out. He claimed he needed to check my electric meter, something about the KV being too high and that he could turn it down for me. The whole thing sounded fishy as I’d never come across anything like that, so I just hung up. This number 01322423876 has rung me a couple of times already today. I’ve blocked it now. Totally agree with what others have said - it seems dodgy and not to be trusted.

This lady phoned me, her English wasn’t great, and she kept going on about some offer to save money on my gas and electric. When I asked where they were located, they said Birmingham, but that number actually seems to come from Dartford. The firm they claimed to be with isn’t a known Distribution Network Operator, and their website, dernedz[###], doesn’t even exist. I kept them talking for a bit and then they just hung up. Their English was all over the place too. Don’t fall for it - they’re just after your bank info!

Their English was terrible. I asked them to say the company name again and all they did was spell it out, something like four letters ending with a Z. They claimed they needed to check my electricity meter but then just cut the call. Honestly, it all felt pretty sketchy.

Like a few others here, this was clearly a scam call for me too. The caller ID showed an overseas number, but when I checked using 1471, it turned out to be from Dartford, 01322423876. Luckily, I always avoid picking up calls that come up as international, so no harm done.
