So, just got a call from someone claiming to be Jennifer with Microsoft support, saying she wanted to do a tune-up on my computer. Pretty obvious scam if you ask me, and it really annoys me when they target people who might not know any better, especially older folk. I wasn’t having any of it, told her to shove off and slammed the phone down straight away.

Yeah, total con. She said there was something wrong with my server and kept me on the line for ages talking about my router pinging and all sorts of tech nonsense. I just ended up telling her off and told her to bugger off.

This call came from the usual Indian call centre, they keep switching between all sorts of spoofed numbers from London, Bedford, and now this one. It’s definitely the same scam, probably linked to that BT Openreach virus stuff they keep banging on about.

I got a call from someone insisting that my computer was infected with a serious virus. They really wouldn’t give up.
