A bloke with a dreadful command of English, talking incredibly slowly, said he was ringing from BT, saying “British Telecom” every time. He mentioned I was a loyal customer (I’m not even with BT) and was entitled to some special deal with free evenings, weekends, international calls, and no line rental. It didn’t ring true to me at all, so I just told him I didn’t buy it and ended the call straight away.

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT. They knew my address, full name and postcode, and were offering some kind of free calls deal. Then they asked me to verify my bank info so they could supposedly refund me. I said no way, and then they said they'd send me a letter instead. Yeah right!
