Today, my phone chimed, and without delay, I answered it. On the other end was a woman claiming to be from Amazon, insisting that she’d attempted to contact me previously, which was entirely untrue. She proceeded to discuss my Amazon Prime subscription, encouraging me to make a payment. I’m certain I’ve already settled that bill, so it didn't take long for me to realise that I was dealing with a scam.
