7 yearsI had a rather amusing experience that echoes several accounts I've read here. A lady claiming to be from Google rang me up, insisting there was a “red alert” regarding my internet connection. I promptly pointed out that it sounded like a scam, which seemed to infuriate her quite a bit. I decided to just leave the phone off the hook, and she continued to ramble on for a couple of minutes before eventually slamming down the receiver. Honestly, it was a rather shoddy attempt at scamming-definitely lacking in any finesse!Google7 yearsJust like others have mentioned, I received a phone call from someone named Crystal, purporting to be from Google Global Security. She informed me that my computer had been compromised and that there'd been some dubious activity over the last fortnight. Funny enough, I had been away on holiday, and my laptop hadn’t been plugged in at all during that time. I ended the call. Not long after, Crystal rang again, adamantly stating I needed help and transferred me to a supervisor (though I didn’t catch the name). I hung up once more, and then to my surprise, received a third call. At that point, I decided to block the number. I reckon it was likely a scam attempt.CrystalGoogle Global Security7 yearsI keep receiving relentless phone calls from individuals purporting to be representatives of Google, insisting that my computer has been compromised.Google7 yearsI received numerous calls from a woman claiming to be from Google, insisting my devices had been compromised. The truth is, I haven’t been on a bike in over a decade! The way they spoke was rather confrontational and quite off-putting, to say the least.7 yearsI inquired about a previous resident of this address from many moons ago, and that’s when things took a turn. The lady returned my call promptly, yet her tone was rather unpleasant. She accused us of concealing our identities, suggesting we were mucking about at her expense. Oddly enough, she refused to share the purpose of her call, leaving me quite puzzled.7 yearsI’ve just had my third call from this number within a mere ten minutes! I reiterated that the individual they're after doesn’t reside here. They claimed to have our address to hand and insisted they were phoning from Google, mentioning a supposed red alert on our internet connection. I made it clear that we don’t even have internet service, to which she practically accused me of fibbing. After a rather frustrating exchange, she ultimately hung up on me.GoogleSubmit Your Own Report (0131 669 2680)
