I got a call claiming to be from the Bank of Scotland’s fraud team, telling me there were two suspicious charges on my account - one from Amazon and another for some overseas transfer. Thing is, none of these showed up on my real bank statement. They told me to press one to stop the transactions or hold on for a fraud specialist. When I pressed one, a guy with an Indian accent answered, so I just ended the call. The number looked like it belonged to a proper BT landline company. Best not to engage with it.
