Seems like it’s one of those automated scam calls from India. They start by asking if you’ve had an accident, and if you say “yes,” they patch you through to a real person. Then they claim you’re entitled to about £7,000 compensation but need to pay a tiny £10 fee to get it moving. Classic scam stuff, best to steer clear. They’ve been ringing me every day on my landline, which I never actually share (and honestly, I can’t even recall the number!). If I pick up, it just goes quiet. After looking into it, I realised it’s exactly what I suspected.

I ended the call as soon as they rang me.

There was some sort of noise in the background like someone's home, then a bloke finally answered with a really slurred "hello?" sounded proper wasted. He kept going on like "oh hi, I just called, how you doing?" but so out of it. I told him I had no idea who he was and reckon he got the wrong number, then I just ended the call.

Today I got a call from this number, I answered with a simple hello but no one spoke back. All I could hear was some kind of background noise which made me think it was probably a call centre or some automated system.

Got a call from a local number earlier, it was an asian bloke named "Peter" talking about energy stuff, then he just hung up out of nowhere!

Got a call from someone abroad asking if i was in some accident ive never been in, i just ended the call straight away.

Called back but the number didn’t show up as valid, plus they left no voicemail. Definitely feels like a scam. Happens too often!
