Somebody rang claiming to be from EON Next, but the line was really scratchy. They said there was a problem with our postcode and wanted details about our meter. I didn’t give anything away though, as I’d had another call just last week from a different number with the same story - seemed like a total scam. After that, I rang EON Next myself to check and they told me they hadn’t made any calls about our postcode or meter info. When I called the number back today (an 0131 one), as soon as I said I suspected it was a scam, they just hung up. It’s clearly dodgy, probably some call centre overseas cycling through UK numbers to keep fooling people. Be very wary and don’t trust these calls!

Some bloke called saying he was from BG, saying there was some issue with our business meter and that we’d been charged too much. He wouldn’t send anything in writing though. I told him I’d just got the invoices and I’d already been chatting with BG today, then suddenly he started backtracking. I just ended the call there and then.
