Had a call from some dubious lot trying to flog appliance insurance to my household, which is rightly registered with the Telephone Preference Service. It’s quite clear they’re operating outside the law, given their reluctance to disclose who they are. Honestly, it’s just typical of the sort of underhanded characters out there. Total scoundrels, if you ask me!

I answered the phone, greeted by an Indian woman who informed me that all digital broadband and landline cables in the UK were to be switched off. She then offered assistance in getting me set up with new broadband and landline services. I politely declined, and before I knew it, the call ended abruptly.

At the ripe old age of 95, I received a rather lengthy call from this number on the 20th of February 2024, claiming to be from D & G. The chap on the line rambled on, throwing a mountain of information my way, and seemed keen on prying into my personal details. Something felt off, so I ended the call and reached out to D & G directly, only to find out it wasn't them at all. I reckon it was a dodgy scheme of some sort!

Got a call from some bloke with an Asian accent saying I needed to pay for an appliance maintenance renewal. I told him straight up that I didn’t have any maintenance fees and called it out as a scam. Hung up and blocked the number, but I know it won’t really stop them since they just keep ringing from different numbers. Proper annoying!

A really courteous bloke rang me with, what sounded like, an Asian accent. He was saying he had to get thousands of quid in his bank each day so he could buy the Eiffel Tower for his lad. Then he started telling me he owns 57 Lamborghinis, so I asked why he was working in a call centre if that’s the case. He said he actually wasn’t, but that I was the one working in a call centre - which threw me off because I was just outside cleaning my car. The chat was pretty odd, but I wouldn’t mind another call to see if he’s managed to get his hands on the Eiffel Tower yet.
